Anvers Chocolate
On my recent trip to Tasmania I visited the House of Anvers. No trip to Tasmania for me is complete without a trip to Anvers. The House of Anvers is located at Latrobe in the property formally known as “Wyndarra Lodge”.

The House of Anvers contains a mini chocolate museum, where you can learn about the history of chocolate. As you wander through you can also munch on samples of their amazing chocolates. My trip to Anvers isn’t complete through without a trip to the chocolate shop and lunch. Sadly though, on this trip I didn’t have room in my suitcase to bring home any goodies, but if you do visit, I encourage you to make room as the shop offers 2nds of the chocolate in bulk lots.
Lunch at Anvers varies from the ploughmans platter with cured meats, cheeses and fresh bread; to the beef and chocolate pie (my Dad’s favourite); to soups and salads. My Mum and I shared the platter, which is always more than we can both eat. They were kind enough to put the cured meats on a seperate platter once they learned I was vegetarian. A visit to the cake cabinet is a must, even if it’s just to drool at the beautiful cakes on display. All in all, it’s well worth the visit when you are in Northern Tasmania.
Visit Anvers website to purchase their DELICIOUS chocolates online.
